More iPhone 5 parts pop up
Signs that the iPhone 5's parts are in the supply chain were reinforced Tuesday after a handful more showed and confirmed color choices. Headphone jacks both in black and in white have emerged at Chinese reseller Truesupplier as "OEM Apple iPhone 5 Genuine" parts. A third part, a camera lens, has surfaced at TVC-Mail.
More examples have also emerged of the proximity sensor cable for the new design.
None of the parts give a direct clue as to whether the next iPhone will be a major design change, although they're in some cases different enough to hint that at least the internal engineering is different. Other claimed iPhone 5 parts have had the camera flash moved to the side. Discussion of a larger screen hasn't been either confirmed or denied by recent parts.
All of the components support beliefs that Apple has started production. The parts would have to be ready to ship to Foxconn for assembly, and Apple usually needs roughly two months' lead time to start production on a new iPhone. Mounting rumors have the new design shipping in October. [via MacPost]
