Korean FTC sues Taiwanese, Korean, Japan makers

The Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) has sued several LCD panel makers over alleged price-fixing. The panel makers accused of anti-trust practices include Chimei Innolux, AU Optronics, Hannastar Display and Chunghwa Picture Tubes from Taiwan. Companies from Korea and Japan have also been accused of the same offences and include, Samsung, LG Display, as well as Sharp.

The KFTC has alleged that all the companies named have breached competitive practices and have colluded on setting prices to protect their profits at the expense of consumers.

The KFTC has not decided how much the fines will be at this stage, while the accused parties are also considering how they will respond to the allegations. [via Digitimes]
