Wrap 1200 3D glasses have twin 852x480 displays

Vuzix corporation has just released the Wrap 1200 3D video glasses. They connect to source devices and allow wearers to view 2D or 3D content in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The company said wearing the glasses is equal to looking at a traditional 75-inch display from just 10 feet away. There are two 852x480 LCD displays integrated into the glasses.

The glasses are customizable, letting users adjust the screens up and down by 15 degrees thanks to an AccuTilt feature. The optics can also be positioned to match the user's eye separation. An on-screen display lets them adjust brightness, contrast, hue and color saturation, and each eye gets its own focal adjustment.

There are component and composite video inputs for connecting to game consoles, media players, phones, DVD players and tablets. Accessories include a VGA connection as well.

The glasses will fit over most prescription eyewear and sports an adjustable hypoallergenic nosepiece as well as detachable stereo headphones. Two AA batteries ship with the glasses and provide up to three hours of video playback. Optional lithium ion batteries will last as much as seven hours.

The Wrap 1200s are now shipping for $500.
