HP's 7-inch TouchPad Go leaks at FCC with 1.5GHz chip, 3G

HP TouchPad Go tablet hits FCC

HP's seven-inch TouchPad has inadvertently been confirmed through an FCC filing. The smaller tablet should be called the TouchPad Go and may be closer to the TouchPad 4G than the original. Sample labels have it getting a "1.5G" chip, likely the 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon from the TouchPad 4G, as well as HSPA+ for 3G on AT&T and international versions.

The four labels HP is testing out point to there being both Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the TouchPad Go with 16GB and 32GB capacities like the current tablets. Only the Wi-Fi model would get a cheaper 16GB option. Earlier leaks under the Go's original Opal codename had it using the exact same 1024x768 resolution as the 10-inch TouchPad and otherwise being virtually identical inside.

No clues as to the release window have popped up in the filing itself. Taiwan contractor Inventec is purportedly starting production this month and could see the smaller TouchPad on shelves within a month or two. [via webOSroundup]
