Sprint name leak: Samsung Epic 4G Touch, HTC Evo Design 4G

updated 08:30 am EDT, Tue August 9, 2011

Tipster spills beans on names of upcoming devices

An anonymous tipster has leaked the names of several forthcoming devices on the Sprint network. The Engadget source revealed that Samsung's multi-million selling Galaxy S II will be called the Epic 4G Touch. The rumored HTC handset codenamed Kingdom will be known as the EVO Design 4G. Meanwhile, a new Motorola handset without the 4G treatment will arrive badged as the Admiral.

The Samsung Epic 4G will be a variant of the global Galaxy S II model with a faster HSDPA+ radio and slightly altered, rounder design. It will retain the 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor of the overseas model, as well as the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display.

The HTC EVO Design 4G is rumored to run either a 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz single-core second-generation Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and HTC's latest UI skin, Sense 3.0.

No details have emerged with regard to the Motorola Admiral.
