Apple training site returns with Lion, FCP X courses

updated 12:00 pm EDT, Thu August 4, 2011

No exams ready to take

Emerging from two weeks of site maintenance, Apple's professional training website has been updated with a new aesthetic, as well as new courses and certifications. The programs are intended for IT workers who need to prove familiarity with Apple products. Three new tracks have been introduced: these include OS X Lion, Final Cut Pro X, and Mac Integration Basics 10.7.

None of the tracks have certification exams ready. In fact, only the last of the three programs currently has full course documentation. Apple is promising that Lion testing will begin sometime in the fall, while Final Cut Pro X certifications are said to be "coming soon."

The company is meanwhile continuing to provide Snow Leopard training. That will end in January 2012, although the certifications themselves should stay valid well past that date. Certifications are also still available for Final Cut Pro 7.
