Extensis updates for Lion
OpenSearch for Safari, a new extension that allows users to search across numerous search engines, has been launched, while Extensis has released updates for Suitcase Fusion 3 and Universal Type Server
A new Safari Extension that implements the OpenSearch technology into Safari 5.1 has been released. OpenSearch for Safari allows users to search across Wikipedia, Amazon, the iTunes store, Flickr, and Engadget without leaving the current tab or page. The software also include an auto-discovery feature that allows users to add new search engines. When visiting a site that offers OpenSearch implementation, a notification is placed in the toolbar allowing users to add the search engine. Due to the use of the popover functionality the extension is only supported on Safari 5.1.
Suitcase Fusion 3 and Universal Type Server gain Lion support
Extensis has issued free updates for Suitcase Fusion 3 and Universal Type Server, adding support for OS X Lion and Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. The Universal Type Server update also includes additional plug-ins to support Adobe InCopy CS4, CS5 and CS5.5, as well as a new XTension for QuarkXPress 9. The new plug-ins automatically activate the fonts required for each file using Font Sense technology to create unique fingerprints for each font. Existing Suitcase Fusion 3 users may obtain the new plug-ins through the Check for Updates features of Suitcase Fusion 3, while updates to Universal Type Server 3 can be downloaded directly from the Extensis website.
