Facebook blocks users switching on iPad app

updated 02:55 pm EDT, Tue July 26, 2011

Early adopters may still have access

Facebook is now actively blocking access by people who have turned on the company's prerelease iPad interface, accounts say. While the interface will technically run, many users are being stopped at the login screen. Some early adopters have allegedly been able to keep full access, but others say they have suddenly lost it.

The iPad code is contained with the current iPhone app, and enabled with relatively little effort. Its state is such that it may point to an official release in the near future. In the meantime, Facebook may be concerned with the security risk posed by hacked apps, or simply preventing people from experiencing the site's content in a rough state.

Well, the first effort requires you to be running a jailbroken phone.
