Adobe opened the doors to its Photoshop & You experience in San Francisco this past weekend. Free to the public, Photoshop & You will run for two weeks and offers numerous workshops run by renewed photographers and artists. The event also features product demos, one on one how-to sessions, an imaging lab, and more. Photoshop & You is being hosted at 550 Sutter Street, San Francisco, and will run until August 6th. Doors are open between 11AM and 7PM Sunday through Wednesday, and close at 9PM Thursday through Saturday.
Hollywood Brass, a new digital instrument from Eastwest featuring the new PLay 3 playback engine, has been released. Hollywood Brass offers approximately 150GB of audio files including trumpets, french hordes, trombones, tuba, cimbasso, and a low brass section. The software also provides a complete list of articulations and techniques that allow users to customize sounds to their needs. Until August 15th the Hollywood Brass Diamond edition will be offered for $795, while the Gold edition will sell for $495. After this date prices will rise to $995 and $595 respectively.

Just San Francisco?
Why just San Francisco, disproportionately and increasingly rich, white/caucasian, and unrepresentative of the nation as a whole? Its ad-agency pros don't need this and its citizens are rich enough to hire personal tutors.
Why not take this show to all America, including the booming South and Southwest, our struggling Rust Belt, and even the poor over-regulated and over-taxed smucks in the NE US? Photography in America is more than taking pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. Make Photoshop & You into a venue where local pros can explain their services and ordinary people can learn to create better pictures.
