Clear puts out Spot 4G-Apollo pocket router with LCD

Clear 4G-Apollo router goes live after leaks

Not long after an FCC filing, Clear has unveiled a new-generation 4G hotspot. The Spot 4G-Apollo carries its own display to show its connection strength, battery life, amount transferred and other info without needing a look at a browser. It can handle up to eight simultaneous devices over Wi-Fi and has an unusually long six-hour battery life.

The Gemtek-made hotspot doesn't have legacy 3G support to roam on Sprint's network but, on WiMAX, should hit the typical 3-6Mbps speeds promised on Clear.

Early adopters will have the option of buying the Spot 4G-Apollo for $100 outright or to lease it for $6 per month. Stores should have the router starting from the end of the month.
