Motorola Dinara may beat Bionic with 13MP camera, HD screen

Motorola Dinara leaks out for first time

Motorola already has a sequel to the new Droid Bionic in development that may be hints of a familiar design. Nicknamed the Dinara, it would be similar to the Bionic but have a larger, more edge-to-edge, "HD" screen and upgrade to a 13-megapixel camera. The shape would be "much slimmer and lighter" from what Droid-Life understood, but it would use an iPhone-style sealed-in battery to reach the goal.

It would still use a TI OMAP processor of some kind and carry the same 1GB of RAM. No allusions have been made to LTE, though the Dinara may be a carrier-independent device rather than attach itself to Verizon or any one provider. Verizon the only carrier in testing so far.

Android 2.3 was running on test devices, though this was supposedly more to do with the unavailability of Ice Cream Sandwich than any deliberateness on Motorola's part.

The description recalls the Targa and may be one and the same. Possibilities exist too that information about the Targa and Dinara was mixed up or that the Dinara is a refinement of what the Targa will be.

None of the details have definitive evidence, although Dinara lines up with Motorola's tendency to use mountain ranges as codenames, such as the Etna, Everest, and Olympus. Any launch isn't likely to show until the end of the year at best and would be more likely as a 2012 release given the early development.

    Verizon 4G

You say "No allusions have been made to LTE..." If that's the case why is there a logo on the back of this phone that says "Verizon 4G"?
