STM delivers double kickstand, M-Edge adds 7 cases

Accessories for the iPad 2 continue to arrive, with STM bags releasing a new multiple-kickstand case, the Kicker for iPad 2, while M-Edge is launching a new product line of iPad 2 cases. STM's offering features a folio style with built-in stands to achieve a variety of viewing or use positions, while M-Edge offers a variety of cases in folding, jacket and folio-style jackets and cases.

The Kicker for iPad 2 ($60) is a folio case made of faux leather with a microsuede lining that features a double kickstand in the rear, the first being a long stand for displaying the iPad and the second is a short stand for a better typing angle. Both kickstands anchor to the face of the case after folding it back, and can use three different slots on the front case to generate different heights for each kickstand.

The front cover has an automatic on-off feature that wakes the iPad on opening and puts it to sleep it when shut, similar to Apple's Smart Cover. It offers easy access to the iPad's ports, full wrap around protection when it is closed and comes in three colors, black, berry and mushroom.

M-Edge leads its iPad 2 case line with the Incline Jacket, a foldable case that offers five different stand positions in landscape mode and has full access to ports, including the rear camera. The case is microfiber leather with microsuede lining and comes in red, black, mocha, navy blue, fuchsia and apple green, selling for $50.

The Trip Jacket ($50) is another foldable case with three stand positions, this time made of cotton canvas with a microfiber lining, held closed by an elastic strap. It ships in black, green with a navy blue band or navy blue with a red band.

The Latitude Jacket for iPad 2 with Theater Stand 360 ($60) is a nylon canvas jacket with polar fleece lining and a fifteen position stand that adjusts from 0- to 90-degrees and swivels through 360-degrees for both portrait and landscape views. It closes around the iPad with a double zipper that can be positioned around the charging cable, allowing it to charge while closed. It ships in black.

The Cambridge Jacket for iPad 2 combines leather trim on canvas with a wool liner, and folds to a stand. It ships in black and mocha for $50.

M-Edge's The New Yorker Jacket for iPad 2 ($50) is a fabric book-style case with a choice of one of five famous covers from The New Yorker. The Go! Jacket for iPad 2 ($45) is a tri-fold cover that offers three positions for display. It has a microsuede interior and an exterior of either patent leather, crackled leather or carbon fiber. The patent leather options come in platinum, merlot and copper.

The Back It for iPad 2 is a polycarbonate rear case that offers corner protection, designed to work in combination with a Smart Cover. It ships in clear, grey, aqua and orange, and costs $20.

M-Edge has also announced a clear vinyl jacket, the Leisure jacket, at $40 and a leather portfolio, the Modular Method Portfolio, for $100 that have not yet been launched on the company website.
