Extensis releases Portfolio Server 10, adds tablet, video

Now offers streaming HD playback for iPad
Extensis' Digital Asset Management (DAM) software Portfolio Server 10 is now available [website not yet updated], bringing with it a new ability to streaming HD video and convert video for iPads, other tablets, and the web. The new version also sports support for Active Directory, and offers a faster media engine cluster. The program offers complete asset management of images, audio, video and other media files.
The new version places an emphasis on making media assets not just viewable but manageable on a wide variety of mobile devices as well as the web, ensuring that creative professionals are able to view and work with assets from almost anywhere and across various platforms using NetPublish, which now also features enhanced searching capabilities.
New in v10 is the ability to create PDF contact sheets, along with the tablet access in NetPublish, the Active Directory integration, video conversion via NetMediaMax and overall faster cataloging and processing. Mobile professionals now have full and faster access to their media catalog even while on the go.
Extensis will be demonstrating the product during a "What's New" webcast on Thursday, July 21st at 2 p.m. EST (11 a.m. PST). Registration is required, but free of charge. Portfolio Server 10 will start at a retail price of $1,999, and there are competitive upgrades and upgrade pricing for those moving from Portfolio Standalone, Portfolio Server and Portfolio Studio. Current customers under an annual service agreement will receive the new version free.
