IK Multimedia mount adds to microphone stand
Two manufacturers have brought out their latest offerings for (respectively) the iPad and the iPhone. G-Form has launched its next-generation Extreme Sleeve 2 for iPad, a super-touch case that offers distinguished protection from drops or shocks. Meanwhile, IK Multimedia has announced its new iPhone mount for musicians, the iKlip Mini, which mounts any iPhone or iPod touch on a microphone stand.
G-Form's Extreme Sleeve 2 case is unique in its level of protection for the iPad, featuring Reactive Protection Technology - RPT - that combines Poron XRD and G-Form design for extreme impact protection that absorbs 90 percent of the energy created in an impact -- and the level of protection doesn't diminish on repeated drops.
It is a lightweight and water-resistant sleeve design. The second version adds an additional layer of RPT, protecting the zippered entry area, and provides additional space to accommodate an iPad 2 with a Smart Cover. The company is taking the unusual step of offering free replacements for any first generation Extreme Sleeve owners who desire the upgraded version 2 case. The original is still for sale at $60, while the new Extreme Sleeve 2 is $70, and is available in black or yellow.
IK Multimedia's iKlip Mini supports attachment to vertical poles or horizontal booms, and mounts the phone in both landscape and portrait positions while displaying it at other preferred angles. It provides access to all the iPhone's controls, and has a detachable bracket support for owners of an iRig guitar interface. The new mount is $40, and can be pre-ordered now at the company's website. It works with iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and 4th, 3rd and 2nd generation iPod touch models.
