New Recent, Open, Save file dialogs added
Akvis has launched an update to its 3D nature effects software, Akvis NatureArt 3.0. The software generates recreations of natural phenomena, like rain, sun, water, lightning, clouds, frost and fire, for placement in digital images. Version 3.0 adds ice effects to the arsenal, adding ice to selected areas of an image, with user-adjustable texture, color and transparency. The clouds effect gains seven new presets in v3.0, RAW image support has been added, and the OS X standard list of recent files and file dialog for opening and saving files are now included.
The software is available either as a stand-alone app or as a plug-in for digital image editors like Adobe Photoshop. It works with version of Photoshop from v6 up to CS5, even supporting CS5's 64-bit mode. It also works with all recent versions of Photoshop Elements.
Akvis NatureArt 3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and 1GB or more of RAM, with 2GB preferred. It is $72 for the Home Standalone or Plug-in version, or $130 for the Home Deluxe (Standalone and Plug-in included) and $190 for the Business version (plug-in, standalone version and eight additional effects), which allows for commercial use of the software.
