HTC Evo 3D gets video teardown, headed to T-Mobile?

updated 12:50 pm EDT, Fri July 1, 2011

3D causes unusual thickness for high-end phone

A Sprint Premium customer has posted a video teardown of the HTC EVO 3D (below). The user noted that the unusual thickness of the handset was due in large part to the glass needed to produce the glasses-free 3D effect. HTC may also be considering a version of the phone for T-Mobile, as a request for a new smartphone using T-Mobile's frequencies were filed with the FCC.

If confirmed, it would be the first indication that the EVO 3D was coming to T-Mobile. Neither the carrier nor the phone manufacturer have announced any such plans. [via xda-developers and via Tmo News]
