Google+ web app holds place for native iOS app

updated 09:30 am EDT, Wed June 29, 2011

Native app still waiting for Apple approval

An HTML5 web app is serving as a stopgap for Google+ users on iOS. While a native Android app is already available, the native iOS title is only quoted as "coming soon" by Google, since it is awaiting approval by Apple. The web app can be accessed by visiting plus.google.com in mobile Safari.

The page provides access to the basic features of Google+, including Stream, Photos, Circles, Profile and Notifications. The Huddle group chat option is currently missing, but users can check in at a location, or see Google+ messages from nearby people. An red badge also shows recent notifications, although this is only visible while the web app is active.
