ASUS releases slim U36, Eee Top with Fusion

ASUS has added two notable products to its range, the ultra-slim U36 notebook and a new Eee Top all-in-one PC powered by AMD's Fusion APU. ASUS claims that the U36 is the slimmest Core i5 notebook currently on the market at just 0.74-inches thin. It is also lightweight, at just over 3-pounds, which has been achieved through the use of magnesium alloy in the chassis.

The U36 also promises up to 11.5 hours of battery life courtesy of NIVIDIA graphics with Optimus switching tech. It centers on a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366x768. It also uses a nanometer coating to help it repel dirt, water and fingerprints. The U36 is currently on sale in the UK for the equivalent of $1120.

The 20-inch ASUS Eee Top ET2011AUTB has just hit the market and is powered by AMD's latest Brazos-based Fusion APU. The dual-core E350 processor is clocked at 1.6GHz and is matched with 2GB of RAM. It also includes a 500GB 7,200rpm hard drive. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n as well as four USB 2.0 ports. Speakers are also built-in and deliver a modest 2W of performance.

The ASUS Eee Top ET2011AUTB is also available in the UK now for the equivalent of $840. [via Slashgear]
