LulzSec denies any arrests, UK census hacks

LulzSec quickly dampens rumors of UK trouble

Lulz Security quickly shot down any claims that it had been embroiled in UK trouble. The hacker collective argued that reports of the hack were "fake" and that its Twitter account was the authority. Everyone in the group was accounted for, it added, leaving any UK arrests to either unrelated cases or innocents.

The group didn't object to inspired hacking attempts that supported its AntiSec campaign. Along with help from Anonymous, LulzSec has been hoping to extract information from government organizations in the US and UK that it believes are hurting freedom. Much of that information is expected to go online both at LulzSec's page and on The Pirate Bay.

Like Anonymous, LulzSec deliberately avoids naming anyone involved and is decentralized to prevent any one shutdown from taking down the entire group.

The team until AntiSec had been focusing more on game companiea and repeatedly targeted Sony for its scorched earth approach to silencing and blocking attempts to jailbreak the PS3. Many supporters believe that owners should have the right to modify their own devices.
