London's iTunes Festival offers free live HD streams for iOS

Duran Duran, Coldplay, others to perform
Music fans who are also iOS device owners will get an added benefit to their iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch via the iTunes Festival London 2011 app (free), which will serve up live and on-demand high-definition streams of the performers from the historic Roundhouse stage. Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Coldplay and Duran Duran will be among the featured acts.
The app is now available, and also features Airplay support to stream HD video to a widescreen TV using Apple TV. An future version of the Live Nation app (free) will also feature live streams from the festival, and will be updated in the near future.
The iTunes Festival will feature a total of 62 bands across 31 nights, and has been a huge success for both Live Nation, the promoter, as well as Apple. Over 25,000 people attended the event last year, and iTunes sells EPs of each act's performance those who want to keep the music from the event. The festival will kick off July 1st with an evening with Paul Simon, and also features such performers as the Manic Street Preachers, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Glasvegas, Foo Fighters, Mogwai, Noah and the Whale, Lang Lang and Moby.
Tickets to the festival are being handled worldwide by Ticketmaster.
