Mystery Verizon tablet may be Motorola Xoom 4G

Verizon tablet video hints at Xoom 4G

Verizon's mystery Android tablet in a video (below) may actually be a sequel to the Xoom. Sources claimed Friday afternoon that, while a mockup, it was meant to reflect the Xoom 4G, a new design that would have LTE data built-in. What else would come wasn't known, but Android Central presumed it would be thinner and lighter.

Motorola has so far been silent with what would happen to any sequel to the Xoom and has focused much of its discussion on a seven-inch tablet due in the second half of the year. The Xoom has drawn flak for being heavy and thick next to competitors like the iPad 2 and has sold slowly, according to Motorola's earliest figures.

A Xoom 4G sequel device could anger existing owners. In spite of promises, it won't have an LTE upgrade available for the Xoom until sometime in the summer. Google's promised update to make the microSD card slot work also hasn't come to fruition. So far, the only feature promised by Motorola and Google to have reached the Xoom is Flash support that was added several weeks after it shipped.

Verizon hasn't commented on the video but had briefly pulled it after its first appearance.

    It bothers

the s*** out of me that these "isps" are advertising products. I hope that these "partnerships" go away like the buy a computer get a year of internet deals. It would be better for consumers, and everyone alike.
