FotoMagico updates to 3.8, adds more transitions

updated 08:15 pm EDT, Fri June 17, 2011

Improves performance on existing transitions

Digital slideshow and presentation program FotoMagico has been updated to v3.8, which adds several new transitions, enhances options for the standard Fade and Flip transitions, and tunes up the app's overall performance and audio playback. The program, which also works with video clips, animates still images and mixes images with video with audio, and now supports a 720p format option.

New transitions included in v3.8 are Blinds, Flash, Pixelate and Broken TV. It also now has the ability to display export progress using a dock icon badge, so that users can hide or move the app to work in another program without losing sight of the export progress. The new HD 720p format option extends to FotoMagico's iPhone sharing plug-in, meaning users can display HD movies on an HDTV from the iPhone or iPod Touch (fourth generation) with the appropriate cables.

The 3.8 update is free of change for existing FotoMagico 3.x owners, and sells in two editions, a home and pro version. The home version sells for $29, while the pro edition costs $140. A comparison of the two editions is available, and home users can upgrade to the pro version. FotoMagico 2.x users can upgrade to the current pro edition for $89. A five-day trial is also available.
