Apple lays plans for first Swedish Apple Store

Related hiring may be in progress

Apple is looking to expand its retail chain to Sweden, a local publication says. Market.se attributes the information to landlords, who say that the store will be built in the capital city of Stockholm. Apple retail operates in relatively few countries so far: regions so far include Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US. Everywhere else people must buy either from Apple's online store or a third-party vendor.

Job listings may back up the notion of a Stockholm store. In the city Apple has been looking for a payroll supervisor, DF&A manager and business planning analyst, all of which might play a part in Swedish retail operations. No retail-specific positions have opened up though, which implies that a shop might only arrive in 2012 at the earliest.
