HP reveals US price, ship date for Wi-Fi TouchPad

The HP TouchPad will ship to the US on July 1, with prices starting at $500 for a 16GB, Wi-Fi model, HP announced this week. A 32GB version will trade for $600, meanwhile. The 9.7-inch tablet will be unique in running webOS in a sea of Android-powered devices.

A few days after the US launch, the tablet will come to the UK, Ireland, France and Germany while Canada is due to get it in mid-July. Other countries, including Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore, won't get the tablet until sometime later in the year.

Preorders for North America and Europe start on June 19. Accessories for the TouchPad include a Touchstone charging dock, wireless keyboard and case.
A carrier-subsidized version from AT&T is due later in the summer, with more information forthcoming closer to that date.

    Maybe HP...

was the only one to learn from the iPad experience, even including "pad" in the name. No one is laughing now. Where are all the "pad" critics? Fools.

Notice how Jobs just ignored those jabs from the peanut gallery? Apple can't make its "toys" fast enough... another jab.

    It's called envy.
