Handset boasts 700-nit

LG has released a stop-motion video to help market the Optimus Black smartphone. The device is compared in a 'race' against other handsets, which appear to represent the iPhone, Samsung's Galaxy S, and Sony Ericsson's Xperia Arc, though the competing devices uses nicknames. The company is highlighting the Black's 9.2mm thickness and 109g weight, while the 700-nit display is claimed to be 40 percent brighter than the rest of the group.

The Android-based device integrates a single-core 1GHz processor, paired with a four-inch display. Other features include a five-megapixel primary camera, two-megapixel front-facing sensor, and Wi-Fi Direct media sharing.

The Optimus Black is already available in Europe, with a North American launch expected in the near future.
