mSpot to launch Radio Spotter to cloud music feature

updated 11:10 am EDT, Thu May 26, 2011

mSpot intros Radio Spotter addition to service

The mSpot cloud music service on Thursday will add a Radio Spotter beta feature. It will match songs users uploaded to their locker with Internet radio stations based on genres and artist searches. The metadata in a user's uploaded music collection will be used to offer new Stations Suggestions tab in the applications portion of the interface.

These suggested stations users like can be saved as favorites and appear on the app homepage. Songs users hear on the station can tagged to a user's mSpot account and easily purchased using Amazon at a later date. The feature will be free, and is similar to those offered by Pandora and Slacker, though those require more user input.

mSpot already lets users upload up to 5GB of music onto an online storage locker, with access to 20GB costing $4 per month. [via TechCrunch]
