Dell Streak gets hacked Android 3.1

Streak runs on Android 3.1 with a few bugs

The Dell Streak has been successfully hacked by DJ_Steve from the XDA developers forum to run on Android 3.1. The tablet-optimized OS is a big step up from the device's stock Android 2.2 OS. Details on the hack weren't released, as there are still a number of bugs that need to be worked out.

One of them involves the seven-inch tablet's low native resolution of 800x480, with the Streak reverting to an Android 2.3 user interface that's hidden in Android 3.1, which necessitated upping the pixel density. This is a reversal of what is usually the case with Android devices.

Another, smaller issue include the device's inability to wake up from sleep mode when not plugged in. It needs to be then turned on again or reset. [via PhoneArena]
