Infinity Blade goes multiplayer, adds seasonal Helms

updated 07:10 pm EDT, Fri May 20, 2011

New leaderboards, achievements onboard in v1.3

Chair Entertainment has released a major update to its iOS game, Infinity Blade v1.3, which adds multiplayer support via Game Center. The latest version also brings Holiday Helms, with a new helm for each season, and new magic rings, swords, shields, and helmets. New achievements and more leaderboards have also been added, along with several unnamed surprises.

The game, built on Epic's Unreal Engine 3, pits gamers against the Gold King and his Titans, featuring 3D characters and a 3D Dark Citadel environment. Numerous in-game upgrades can be earned, while gold can be bought via in-game purchases.

The app runs on the iPhone 4 and 3GS, iPad 1 and 2, and the 3rd- or 4th-generation iPod touch (16GB and higher), with the game optimized for iPhone 4 and iPad 2. It requires iOS 3.2 but the newest iOS (currently iOS 4.3.3) is preferred. The app is only $3 on the App Store, currently half-price for a limited time.

    So what kind of multiplayer?

Co-op, versus, what? I saw the update but haven't had time to play it yet.
