Graphics, networking among focus areas
Apple late on Thursday seeded a second beta of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to developers. Listed as build 10K524, both the combo and delta versions of the update reportedly measure 1GB. Developers are asked to focus on several areas, such as graphics drivers, the Mac App Store and QuickTime. Networking is a particular target, including AirPort and VPNs.
The v10.6.8 code is still in an early state. The first beta was posted approximately a week ago, and Apple usually issues several revisions before making a patch available through Software Update. The finished results could be the last update of Snow Leopard, as Mac OS X Lion is due sometime this summer.
