updated 04:05 pm EDT, Wed May 18, 2011

Fujitsu T901 convertible tablet now in the US

Fujitsu is now selling its LifeBook T901 convertible tablet PC in the US. The computer gets NVIDIA's Optimus hybrid graphics technology and a 2.5GHz Core i5 processor. The 13.3-inch touchscreen LCD has a resolution of 1280x768 and can be had with an optional dual digitizer that allows five-finger capacitive multi-touch input.

A modular bay will accommodate either a secondary battery or another hard drive. A fingerprint reader for security is standard fare. Otherwise, there is 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive protected by a shock sensor and a dual-layer DVD burner. Windows 7 Professional is preloaded. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth a webcam with dual microphones and an HDMI output round out the specs.

Pricing starts at $1,899, and the only major option is the $100 dual digitizer. [via Engadget]

$1,899??? and they say Macs are expensive?

Hey Microsoft, did you put this Fujitsu machine in your comparison charts in your fraudulent site of MacBooks vs PC laptops?

Have you checked out Wacom's products?

Just a pro digitizer/screen costs almost twice as much, although larger.

This thing has an inductive grid bellow the screen, besides the top layer capacitive digitizer.

I would much rather criticize the fragile looking rotating/tilting hinge mechanism, and of course if you fancy Mac stuff, the OS as well.
