MobileMe Mail suffers from service disruptions [updated]

Servers failing to respond to pings


The Mail component of MobileMe is currently down or suffering from serious issues, some users are reporting. The exact nature of the trouble can range from difficulty with the web app to IMAP services being unavailable. Pinging mail.me.com may not work, and did not work for MacNN.

In extreme cases it may be impossible to log in at me.com. Apple has yet to provide an explanation for current problems, or a resolution timeline. The MobileMe status page in fact claims that all services are online, although it was last updated at 4:20AM Pacific.





Update: The MobileMe status page has since been updated to reflect the mail issues noted above, but no timetable was given for a fix: "Some MobileMe members may be unable to access MobileMe Mail. Normal service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience."

    I dumped MobileMe a year ago...

    ...I miss the sync features. But I don't miss the service interruptions. I'm on Gmail now. Sync isn't perfect (what's with "All Mail"?!...trying to appease big brother?), but it's stable.

    No problems for me

    I have been logged in for the last hour or two on the web, sending and receiving emails with no problem. As of this moment, stuff is coming in and going out. It also looks fine on my iPhone.

    fine for me

    I'm in Washington state and email has worked fine for me as well as for my kids (CA and WA). We haven't seen any problems. Is it MobileMe or the ISP?

    Mail Not Right

    It takes about 15 minutes to get mail here in Eastern PA. Been like that for the past two hours.
