Merges data plus templates to create static output

Cross Culture has announced the release of a completely re-written and re-designed Mergemill Pro 4.0, introducing powerful data-processing capabilities such as multi-level data sorting, BASIC scripting, multiple search-and-replace actions, support for Unicode and other text encodings, project scheduling and autorun functionality. The program takes diverse sources of data, such as databases, webpages, e-mails and more, then merges them with templates or other sources to produce the desired output, from personalized e-mails to spoken RSS feeds.

Mergemill Pro can move data between databases using ODBC, and can process data using filters or tools such as RBScript for BASIC users. The program is also used to create intelligently customized and personalized e-mails, far beyond simply merging a name into a form, all from a standard e-mail account. It can also handle creating e-mail surveys, or alerts (such as for website change or status monitoring). Mergemill v4 can create static web pages, database-driven web applications and RSS feeds.

Voice output is also an option, enabling the software to create voice e-mails, automated voice announcements or just read out results of searches. Mergemill can read data from text files, e-mails, webpages, SQL data sources, and local RealSQL databases. Users can control output through filters featuring regular expressions, and employ high-level scripting that uses tags for content insertion, arithmetic expressions, looping, IF and CASE branching, insertion of system values, page URLs or page numbers, statistical calculations, speech and e-mail.

Output can be in the form of e-mails, speech, CSV files, tab-delimited text files, XML files, web pages, SQL data sources and FTP uploads. The program even features a Dreamweaver extension for constructing and inserting Mergemill tags into Dreamweaver templates.

Mergemill Pro v4 is available for Macs running OS X 10.4 or higher and costs $99. The new version is a free upgrade to registered users of all previous versions. The program is also available for Windows XP or later.
