Google launches stable Chrome 11

Google's Chrome team has just released a stable build of its Chrome browser. Chrome 11.0.696.57 is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame in Internet Explorer. The most significant change includes support for speech input through HTML.

The text input can be used to translate spoken words with Google Translate. Text will be returned, but clicking the Listen button will also speak back the translation. For now, only spoken English words can be translated to other languages. A number of security fixes are also present, though some are being kept private until the majority of users are up to date.

The patches in getting this release to stable status have resulted in a record $16,500 of rewards from Google.
