HTC Droid Incredible 2 made official, we review it

Droid Incredible 2 official for Verizon, we review

Verizon on Tuesday finally confirmed plans to launch the HTC Droid Incredible 2. The phone we already reviewed is a CDMA adaptation of the Incredible S and centers on its very bright, rich four-inch Super LCD screen and its signature "topographical" back. The Verizon model has specific support for Verizon's 3G hotspot plan and dual-mode support for GSM and HSPA 3G roaming outside of the US.

The Incredible 2, like the Incredible S, still runs on a second-generation 1GHz, single-core Snapdragon chip and has both an eight-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. HTC has given a handful of mostly software tricks that include DLNA media sharing, face detection in the camera app, noise cancellation during phone calls, and SRS WOW HD virtual surround sound. Android 2.2 still ships out of the box but comes with Flash already installed.

Buyers can pick up the sequel phone on April 28 for $200 on a contract. Hotspot access works for up to five devices and should cost an extra $20 per month for 2GB of data.

When we reviewed the phone, we came away with a mostly positive look through the excellent display, reasonably quick performance and the good camera.
