Verizon quietly starts selling 4G LTE MiFi

Verizon on Monday began selling the second of the two 4G routers it promised at CES. Novatel's MiFi 4510L can share the 5-12Mbps typical connection speeds on the new LTE network with as many as five other devices over 802.11n Wi-Fi. It doesn't have a microSD slot but is also truly multi-platform and uses the browser for setting up.

Like the MiFi 4082 at Sprint, the 4510L has an e-paper display that can show the status without consuming much power of its own. The router can still fall back to EVDO Revision A for 3G on the rest of Verizon's network. Battery life is slightly longer than for most routers, in spite of the 4G, at about five hours.

Verizon is selling the 4510L for $100 after a $50 rebate and a two-year contract. Data plans for 4G start at $50 for 5GB and also include an $80 10GB option.
