Developer looks to establish solid footing
iPad app developer Flipboard has signed a deal with the Oprah Winfrey Network, reports say. Under the agreement, the new TV network is being given dedicated space on the Flipboard homepage. There the company is promising sneak peeks, exclusives from the final season of the Oprah Winfrey Show, and gathered content such as Oprah.com articles and posts from Oprah's Twitter feed.
The deal is the first of its kind for Flipboard, even though the company's self-titled app has long been a flagship iPad release, regularly promoted by Apple itself. Flipboard has allegedly been valued at $200 million in recent attempts at getting new venture funding, even though it has until now had no source of revenue. The app scrapes content from selected RSS feeds and social networks and puts it into a more attractive and convenient magazine format.

i like the idea
and I think that they could go far with compiling all kinds of stuff tied to different sports teams, hot movies like Harry Potter etc.
but all I ask is that we the users be allowed to turn these things off. I have no desire to read the Oprah section myself and really don't want it cluttering my app. So let me have it if I want and dump it if I don't
