Logitech brings video security app to iPad

updated 05:15 pm EDT, Wed April 13, 2011

Logitech intros Alert security app for iPads

Logitech on Wednesday showed off an upcoming app for the iPad that will let users access the company's Alert digital video security system. Using the app, users will have access to the cameras on the security system in up to 720p quality from anywhere they have a data connection. It is compatible with the Alert 750i Master System and the weatherproof Alert 750e Outdoor Master System as well as add-on cameras for either.

The app will show real-time video and playback the associated audio while those with the Web and Mobile Commander service can view recordings when motion was detected. Remote system management is also available from the app.

The app will arrive in the iTunes store in the US, Europe and Asia later in April and will be free to download. The Alert systems start at $300.
