T-Mobile kills $60 unlimited data/talk/text plan

updated 08:55 pm EDT, Wed April 13, 2011

Company leaves promises unfulfilled

Contrary to information that surfaced in recent leaks, T-Mobile has reportedly dropped plans to offer a new 'Even More Plus' plan, which would have provided unlimited data, talk and text service for just $60/month. An internal document posted on TmoNews notifies employees that the plan will be removed from the company's systems overnight.

If the plan would have arrived as expected, users would have been able to utilize 2GB of full-speed data access before the company throttled the connection speed. The carrier currently offers 5GB and 10GB data packages, however the plans carry a pricing premium over the proposed Even More Plus option.

The reason for the change is unclear, despite the public commitment announced in a formal press release. Customers can still take advantage of the promotional Even More unlimited plan, which costs $60 for text/voice and an additional $20 for data.
