updated 09:50 pm EDT, Tue April 12, 2011

Remote controls equipment via Wi-Fi, IR, RF

Conspin has unveiled the Andi-One, a universal remote control based on Google's Android OS. The device resembles a typical smartphone, offering a 3.5-inch 320x480 touchscreen that handles the control UI or Android apps. Users can configure up to 50 devices, with remote signals communicated via infrared, radio frequency or Wi-Fi.

The system enables devices to be organized by room, or grouped to power on and off simultaneously. Frequently used keys are available as physical buttons or elements of the virtual interface, which also provides a keyboard for entering information into on-screen menus.

Aside from the control functions, the device also works as a VoIP phone or a clock with weather information. The included cradle also integrates a dock connector for many of Apple's iOS devices, with audio played through dual two-watt speakers.

The Andi-One is now available for $350.
