Packard Bell joins tablet fray with Liberty Tab

Packard Bell Liberty Tab kicks off with Android 3

Packard Bell has joined its parent Acer in the tablet arena by launching a model of its own. The Liberty Tab is a close cousin of the Iconia Tab A500 and chiefly mixes up the design to be more visually appealing. The Android 3.0 slate can either come in a safe Pearl White or a more conspicuous Cherry Red.

Inside, it still revolves around a 10-inch, 1280x800 display and an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. A five-megapixel rear camera and a front two-megapixel camera supply the photography and can record video to microSDHC cards to send through the HDMI output jack. Android 3.0 only has light customizations on the Liberty Tab, such as a time and date widget, and mostly hugs to Google's official UI.

Europe will get the Liberty Tab sometime in June, with pricing coming later and dependent on whether or not 3G is in use. Packard Bell is currently a European badge and won't bring its version to the US, but the Iconia Tab A500 is due to reach Verizon while the A501 will reach AT&T. [via Notebook Italia]
