Ubisoft Battle Tag laser gun system at FCC, up for preorder

Ubisoft Battle Tag system now up for sale at $130

Ubisoft's Battle Tag laser gun system has been approved by the FCC and is now available for pre-order. The guns operate using RFID tags for a much more advanced approach to laser tag, with the system sporting virtual hit points, ammo, med-packs and a few different game modes. The system also uses a fabric vest that has sensors on the chest, back and shoulders.

An LCD readout on the back of the gun apprises gamers of their status, including vitality and ammo status. Virtual shots can reach out as far as 300 meters (985 feet). The Windows-compatible system requires a PC to create games that are customizable and includes gear for two players. It is priced at $130. [via SlashGear]
