DEVONagent beta 3 improves search speeds

updated 09:55 pm EDT, Thu March 31, 2011

Unfiltered Google, Bing search sets arrive in PB3

DEVONtechnologies has released a third beta of its DEVONagent 3 intelligent-search software. The app uses standard and specialized search engines, returning focused summaries or a wide swath of results in a topic map. It can also archive search results or add them to a database. The latest beta sees the app move into the menu bar for constant availability and easy access. Search results can be launched into the full DEVONagent app or into a web browser with one click.

The utility also adds new search sets that query Google and Bing, along with a plug-in for the Highbeam article archive. Reports add support for OPML and HTML, while search sets can be exported by dragging them to the Finder.

DEVONagent requires Mac OS X 10.5 or newer. It costs $50 with bundles and educational discounts also available.
