Firefox 4 Mobile final hits Android

Mozilla on Tuesday posted the final version of Firefox 4 for Android (free, Market) and Nokia's Maemo. The app uses much of the desktop engine and has a JavaScript engine that promises triple the speed of Google's own stock browser. Many of the interface elements are borrowed from the desktop as well, including the Awesome Bar for hybrid search and URLs, Firefox Sync to share bookmarks with the desktop, add-ons, and tabs.

The browser brings HTML5 but notably doesn't include Flash. Performance has so far been cited as the main limitation and should see Adobe's plugin arrive at an undetermined point in the future.

Using the browser on Android needs at least Android 2.0. Most Android phones will work, but Mozilla has specifically excluded the original Motorola Droid and its Milestone equivalent.
