FileWave 5 software manager adds iOS control, propagation

updated 02:55 pm EDT, Wed March 23, 2011

Ver5 can remote wipe Macs, iOS devices, more

FileWave has launched version 5 of its self-named app for managing and deploying software. Geared toward IT specialists, the software allows IT pros to control both software and hardware in multi-platform businesses. Version 5 adds iOS app management -- they are calling it Mobile Device management, or MDM -- in the same management console used for controlling Mac and Windows clients. The console supports simple drag and drops to create and adjust profiles. An intelligent Downloader is new -- it gives file-level control of existing client software without the need to redeploy it.

Other new features are the ability to remote wipe Mac, PC and iOS devices, LDAP integration, MCX preference management and iTunes content sync. A number of bugfixes and performance upgrades are also in the mix.

Company contact is required for downloading the software and price quotes.

    Huh? "propagation"?

Hard to find feature info for FileWave 5...I hope "propagation" means server replication...
