ASUS' Fusion-based Eee PC 1015B, 1215B hit US

Netbooks offer full HD, 8.5 hour battery life

ASUS has introduced two new netbooks with AMD's low power Fusion processors with integrated Radeon GPUs, the Eee PC 1015B and Eee PC 1215B. The 1015B uses a 10.1-inch, 1024x600 LED backlight display, while the 1215B has a 12.1-inch, 1366x768 screen. Both models offer a choice of processors. The C30 is a single-core, 1.2GHz CPU, while the C50 is a 1.0GHz dual-core processor. An optional six-cell battery provides up to 8.5 hours of battery life.

Standard options are a 250GB SATA hard drive, Radeon HD 6250 graphics, and 802.11n Wi-Fi. Microsoft Windows 7 Starter is preloaded. A HDMI out provides full 1080p HD video and 7.1 surround sound. Expansion ports include a standard VGA connector, three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports, headphone and microphone connections, a 10/100 LAN jack, and an integrated SD/SDHC/MMC card reader. The 1015B comes with 1GB DDR3 memory, while the 1215B has 2GB DDR3 RAM. Upgrades include 320GB and 500GB hard drives, Bluetooth V3.0+HS, and Radeon HD 6310 graphics.

The 1015B is available in matte black, matte blue, glossy black, glossy red, glossy white, and mixed matte/glossy red, and retails for $289. The 1215B comes in matte black, matte silver, glossy black, and mixed matte/glossy red, and sells for $379.
