Samsung i520 due as Droid Stealth on April 7
(Update: new name) Samsung's upcoming LTE Android phone for Verizon may have finally been given a firm name and a launch schedule. Costco sources leaked word that it would be called the Droid Stealth, making it the first Samsung phone with the Droid label. Android Central was shown that shipments would tentatively start just two weeks later, on April 7.
The Stealth name has been attached to the phone before, but officially it's usually referred to just as the i520. A March 24 pre-order date would coincide with the last day of the CTIA phone show and could make it a parting announcement.
While it still has the 1GHz Hummingbird processor from the nearly year-old Galaxy S line, the Droid Stealth should make up for it with the 4G speeds as well as extra features like a front 1.3-megapixel camera, a rear eight-megapixel camera, and a clearer 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. Android 2.3 may also make an appearance given its existence on the Galaxy S II.
Update: A follow-up suggests Stealth was still just the codename and that it will be called the Droid Charge instead.
