Slacker giveaway winner announcement.

The Slacker Radio giveaway has come to an end, and yes we've been slacking a little on getting the winners out, but it's Friday and if we don't do it now, it probably won't get done. So here it goes.

First we will be giving away the three month Slacker Radio Plus subscriptions. Some guy who's name is "Not Steve" told us "I slack off everyday. Here's my trick. I walk around the office a lot and occasionally talk to myself. People think I am busy. Sometimes I throw out some curse words and people say "whoa, don't give Steve (not my real name) anymore to do, he is under a lot of stress." I've been getting away with this for years. Sometimes I brag to my buddies at the bar about my trick and they don't believe me. Trust me, life is good."

Matthew, the "Pharmacy Tech" is next on our list, he wrote "When I was in college I worked for a Hospital Pharmacy. I was a Pharmacy Tech, which is a fancy term for errand boy. Part of my job was to check monthly for medicine that would be outdated the following month. What made this part of the job the best for slacking off was that one of my assigned areas was in the basement where they kept IV fluids. In the morning of each day all the fluids for that day would be brought up, so there is no reason for anyone to come done there to get anything. Now for the slacking off part, I would announce to everyone that I would be doing my monthly check of the IV room that afternoon. I would make sure that everyone knew so that no one would ask where I was and on the off chance that a higher up would ask, they all knew where I was and they could contact me by radio in the room. I would then eat lunch and go down the three floors to this IV room. The reason that I would wait until after lunch was next to the IV room, which had a auto door closer, plus you had to have a Pharm badge to open, was a nurses breakroom. Once they left at 1pm to go back to work, that break room was deserted. Since nurses are more important than most others in the hospital they had a Coke fountain machine. I would walk in there and fill up a huge 44oz cup and grab whatever left over food they had brought in that day (pizza, subs, cake, whatever) and take it back to my Iv room. Once in there, I would sit next to the computer with internet access and watch Hulu for at least 3 hours. Then I would take about 30 minutes and check the IV bags. They were in big boxes and they had the date stamped right on the outside. For any normal person it should have only taken 30 to 45 minutes at best. Somehow I could stretch it out till almost 5 and no one caught me for over 2 years. I would kill for an "IV Room" right now though."

This next guy, Jeffrey, is a slacker on a few levels making him deserving of our last 3-month subscription. "I was hanging out at the beach and a client called saying that our server (which hosts his web site) was down. I was able to ssh into our server and reboot it without leaving my beach chair (and without turning off slacker)"

Whoever said slackers can't be motivated don't know Justin who quit his job and took up slacking full time. " I actually listened to slacker the whole time at work had my phone in one ear and slacker radio in the other... the job got to stressful for me so i quit last week... knowing that the unemployment rate in Oklahoma here it something like 89% but i'm taking my chances... slacker gave me the motivation to quit though if I had not had Slacker in my ear I would have walked out months ago. I was listening to one of my favorite songs that was about a guy quitting his job. I got up and walked out... now i sit at home all day listening to Slacker and reading books." We figured you would need a 1-year subscription.

Logan, you are a champion slacker, quite honestly we were surprised you had the motivation to enter this contest at all after reading this entry, so we're giving you a one year subscription as well. "In my last job, towards the end of the bankruptcy period, I would honestly sit on my butt for 8 hours a day or more and play video games. Honest to goodness sitting there and playing Resident Evil 1-5 for somewhere around 7 hours and nap for at least an hour or more on lunch. The worst part? I was a manager, so I was being paid around 15 dollars an hour to do so."

Winners, please check your inbox, you will be contacted by Slacker Radio shortly about your prize. Thanks to everyone who entered! Check back often for more contests and giveaways from Electronista.
