Staples training hints 10-inch Dell, HTC tablets

Another leak from Staples has emerged that points to the store being told of long-term tablet plans. Along with seeing April launches for the Xoom and the BlackBerry PlayBook, the Droid-Life retail screen cap shows both Dell and HTC 10-inch Android 3.0 tablets as "coming soon." The seven-inch HP Opal is also listed in a similar state along with its known cousin, the TouchPad.

Other tablets mentioned include the largely confirmed but unannounced Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, which Staples was told would run Android 3.0 like the already unveiled Galaxy Tab 10.1. Acer's Iconia Tab A500 and Toshiba's unnamed Tegra 2 tablet were also mentioned.

While it's possible that Staple is simply using leaks and rumors to fill in the gaps, the list may have also been evidence of long-term retail plans. Dell has already said it would have a 10-inch tablet roughly within a year of the Streak 7. HTC hasn't confirmed any plans for tablets beyond the seven-inch Flyer, but it's believed to be working on a 10-inch tablet codenamed the Squire with a Tegra 2, Android 3.0 and many other features competitors already have.

The HTC slate might also be the Evo View 4G, although most have suggested it would just be a Sprint-native version of the Flyer.
