Verizon note dates Thunderbolt and Trophy
A Verizon memo has surfaced that may have narrowed down the nebulous release dates for the HTC Thunderbolt and Trophy. The update put the Thunderbolt on March 17, a date occasionally mentioned elsewhere, and the Windows Phone 7-based Trophy one week later, on March 24. Android Central's copy also had Verizon's three data-only 4G devices from CES, including Novatel's 551L modem, its 4510 MiFi and Samsung's Presto hotspot.
Also mentioned was low supply on Home Phone Connect, the MiFi 2200, and the ZTE FiveSpot. The first two were simply limited by supply issues and would be strained through at least March, but the FiveSpot was waiting on a firmware fix.
Both the Thunderbolt and Trophy are believed to have had their release dates changed multiple times. The Android-running Thunderbolt may be held back by battery life fixes. HTC is facing fewer issues with the Trophy and believed mostly to be waiting on Microsoft's needed NoDo update coming in late March.
A March 17 date for the Thunderbolt is still up in the air and could see it pushed back to March 21.
