LG Revolution hits FCC, risks beating Thunderbolt to stores

LG Revolution hits FCC early

Verizon's LG Revolution has edged closer to launch as it was discovered completing FCC testing late Tuesday. The 4G range-topper has been cleared for the US on Verizon's CDMA and EVDO bands as well as the necessary 700MHz for LTE. No clues were given for when it would ship.

Its appearance came a few weeks after the Thunderbolt's own turn and suggested that the two phones were close behind each other. Although the Thunderbolt is still presumed to be the first 4G phone on Verizon, it has been repeatedly delayed. The LG Revolution was supposed to be more distant but has been reliable enough that it has been used to test 4G voice calls.

The Revolution is a close cousin of the Optimus series and has a 4.3-inch screen, a five megapixel back camera, a front camera and 16GB of built-in storage. Disputes have surfaced about its processor, since it should have in theory used a Tegra 2 like its cousins but may instead have a single-core, 1GHz Snapdragon. [via Wireless Goodness]
